The Curriculum

Key Stage 4

During Key stage 4 in Travel and Tourism Level 2 your child will learn about the world fastest growing industry travel and tourism, as the world becomes more connected more and more people are travelling for business and pleasure. This course is a starting point to explore the industry and starting to develop the key skills needed in  the industry.

They will study the following units;

  1. The UK Travel and Tourism Sector
  2. Understanding Customer Service in Travel and Tourism
  3. Understanding the Nature and Effects of World Travel
  4. Development of the UK Travel and Tourism Sector
  5. Developing Customer Service Skills in Travel and Tourism
  6. UK Tourism Destinations

 

What the levels mean:

Pass:

Student start to develop their knowledge and understanding, they can research and find information with guidance and help.

Students can communicate appropriately and will start to draw simple conclusions to their work.

Merit:

Students show a depth of knowledge and can apply relevant concepts. They are able to research and find relevant information independently, and can produce work under little supervision.

Students have good communication and apply professional language to their work, they can draw conclusions.

Distinction:

Students show a depth of knowledge and understanding, they can evaluate concepts. They are able to apply knowledge to complex contexts.  They can research and successfully use a range of appropriate resources.

Student have good communication and present information for the appropriate audience, they can draw conclusions and justify their findings.

Key Stage 5

During key stage 5 in Travel and Tourism your child will learn about the travel and tourism industries which are the fastest growing industry in the world. Your child will gain an in depth knowledge of the industries and develop some key skills which are relevant in the industry.
