The Curriculum

Key Stage 3

During Key Stage 3 in Science your child will learn about the following:

  • Biology- Cells, Reproduction, Environment and Feeding relationships, Variation and Classification
  • Chemistry- Acids and Alkali, Simple Chemical reactions, The Particle model, Solutions
  • Physics- Energy, Electrical Circuit, Forces and their effects, The Solar System

They will carry out the following modules/projects:

  • End of unit test for each topic.
  • The Level Assessed Task for each of the topic.

Key Stage 4

During Key Stage 4 in Science your child will learn about the following:

  • GCSE Separated Sciences (Physics, Chemistry and Biology)
  • GCSE Double award

GCSE Separated Science will study:

B4,B5, B6 (BIOLOGY)

C4,C5,C6 (CHEMISTRY)

P4,P5,P6, (PHYSICS)

Controlled Assessment

Internal Assessment – end of unit tests

There will be an external exam at the end of year 11 for all the units.

GCSE Double award will study:

B3,B4 (BIOLOGY)

C3,C4 (CHEMISTRY)

P3,P4  (PHYSICS)

Controlled Assessment

Internal Assessment – End of unit test for each topic.

There will be an external exam at the end of year 11.
